Restaurants in Margaret River: Dining out after dark

Although the Margaret River region is synonymous with world-famous wine and long lunches, there’s more than just delicious drops and daytime indulgence on offer. From intimate fine dining, casual restaurants and smart wine bars, the food scene throughout the region has plenty of night time dining options worth returning for.

We’ve rounded up some of the best dinner restaurants Margaret River has to offer, so what are you waiting for? Get out and get eating!

In no particular order, here are some of our favourite Margaret River dinner spots…

Pizzica

Tucked below its more upmarket cousin La Scarpetta you’ll find Pizzica, a little slice of Italy right here in our south west. Come hungry and peruse the extensive menu that’ll transport you straight to the cobbled-stoned streets of Rome. We can’t go past the Porchetta Puccia, followed by fried dough balls drizzled with Nutella for dessert. The building interior itself is a work of art, lovingly hand made by a local artisan.

Swings & Roundabouts Margaret River

Known for their delicious food, epic wine and awesome vibes, a trip down south wouldn’t be complete without a visit to Swings & Roundabouts. Pizza and share plates, carafes of your fav wines and superb hospitality. Grab the gang and get on down!

Settlers Tavern

Settlers Tavern encapsulates everything we love about Margaret River – wholesome food and drink, friendly staff and quintessential live music. Whether you’re keen to explore the 500+ local and international wine list or tuck into a hearty meal – there’s something for everyone at Settlers.

De'sendent

With moody interiors, an indulgent tasting menu and extensive wine list, De’sendent is Margaret River’s newest refined dining experience. Owners Ann Spencer and Executive Chef Evan Hayter, are behind the project, which is the next incarnation of their sustainability-focused Arimia Estate. Expect high-end ingredients including abalone, full-blooded Waygu beef, marron and sea urchin.

Morries

Cocktail lover? Then Morries is for you. Nestled in the heart of Margaret River, this sleek cocktail bar is perfect for late nights and date nights. Graze on tapas plates and sip your way through the cocktail menu.

Normal Van

Normal Van is a North American-inspired diner dishing up all your favourite eats made from scratch with the best ingredients sourced from small and organic suppliers. From cheeseburgers and loaded fries to soft serves plus a great chicken Caesar salad covered with a snowstorm of grated parmesan – come with an empty stomach! And fear not, they’re licensed and dishing up cocktails and great wines.

Burger Baby

Nothing beats a quality burger and chips, and Burger Baby just 3kms south of Margaret River sure does know how to do both. Stop by and enjoy a hearty burger, and when you’ve finished, wash it down with their selection of craft beers. Did we mention there’s foosball tables too?

Miki's Open Kitchen

Ever wondered how your favourite Japanese dishes are made? Miki’s Open Kitchen gives you the intimate chance to watch Miki and his team prepare authentic Japanese tempura dishes. One of the most popular dining experiences in the region, be sure to book this one ahead of your trip.

Margaret River Beer Co

A beloved favourite amongst locals, Margaret River Beer Co, formerly the Brewhouse, is a family-friendly brewpub located on the edge of Margaret River’s township. Pouring craft beers including Megsy ginger beer, live music every Saturday and Sunday and delicious Asian-inspired eats, it’s the ultimate spot to while away the evening with mates.

The River

Fancy something a little lighter yet completely delicious? The River is our go-to for fresh, modern, Asian-inspired share dishes, all set within a cosy pub dining room, often with live music out the back. We recommend ordering a handful of share plates
including the Shark Bay whiting, fish tacos, roasted eggplant and Thai crispy fish salad for a flavour hit.

5 more excellent options...

  • La Scarpetta for incredible Italian cuisine
  • El Toro for rich, flavoursome South American style meats
