If you see an Akubra hat and a pair of RM Williams boots coming your way, it’s most likely Neil McLeod! Neil is a true-blue Aussie and personifies everything this great land is known for.
He has even been described as “Part Crocodile Dundee and part Greg Norman” by American author Ron Fisher. You’ll most likely find Neil on one of his favourite tours, the three day Aussie outback experience of Margaret River taking in the wineries, culture and history of Margaret River, or the Sunset Kangaroo Safari.
And when he’s not boiling the ‘billy’ or sharing the sights with visitors, Neil is likely to be watching his four sons play AFL (Australian Rules Football), or with his horses which he rides and breeds. A Bushman, horseman, stockman and storyteller, Neil has been showing-off his ‘backyard’ for 30-years. An awarded tour guide, a day out with Neil will promise you a quintessential Australian Experience.
Jon “Smiley” Arnold
Jon’s ear-to-ear grin is testament to his warm and friendly personality – it’s why we know him as “Smiley”! Jon has a specialist knowledge of Western Australian history, land uses, and fishing, and for flora and fauna enthusiasts, Jon’s your man – he will be able to share with you Margaret River’s best – the South West is a biodiversity hotspot after all! John has been tour guiding since 2002, and has covered Western Australia’s coast from Perth to Broome.
He’s lived in Margaret River since 1996, and with a love of fishing, mountain biking, spending time in Margaret River’s forests and at the beach, he’s got plenty of tips to share about the local great outdoors. Jon can also attest to the gems of Margaret River – after living and working in Japan, he returned to Margaret River and found one – his Japanese wife. Jon is a passionate follower of AFL (an ardent West Coast Eagles fan) and Cricket – visitors following the Ashes series during a tour should know there’s plenty of friendly banter to be had when Jon’s around!
“Behind every great man is a great woman,” (Isn’t that how the saying goes?) Meet Neil’s wife Coralie. Coralie is the voice behind “McLeod Tours Margaret River”, the engine of the business overseeing everything operational from bookings to enquiries, accounts, and itinerary planning.
Coralie lines up the activities, wineries and attractions for each booking, and also facilitates the organisation’s promotions and marketing. You’ll most likely book your tour with Coralie, and if you’re taking a transfer or private group tour you might also meet her!
Lincoln McLeod has joined his family in the business of showing visitors the best of the Margaret River region.
He is a keen photographer and plays “footy”, tennis and kite-surfs! He is all about living life to the fullest and loves what living in the beautiful town of Margaret River has to offer.
Lincoln is the force behind pretty much all our social media happenings too. He’s a carpenter by trade and loves making furniture (especially using old wine barrels) and his skills have come in very handy around the McLeod family farm since moving down from Perth in 2014.
