As we travel south in comfort, the city fades into open paddocks, woodlands, and coastal plains — a chance to sit back, relax, and enjoy the unfolding scenery. Ease into the day with a scenic break on the Mandurah Foreshore — a relaxed waterfront precinct where estuary views, local cafes, and natural beauty come together. Stretch your legs with a stroll along the boardwalk, soak in the coastal breeze, and perhaps spot a pod of dolphins or a group of black swans gliding by.

We’ll stop for a coffee at a favourite local spot like Tod’s Café, right on the water’s edge. It’s a chance to unwind and begin the day at a gentle pace, with time to connect with fellow travellers and enjoy the charm of this growing coastal city.

Mandurah blends relaxed holiday vibes with a rich cultural history and vibrant art scene, making it a perfect first stop on your journey south.

Take in the sights, sounds and sea air at one of Western Australia’s most iconic landmarks — the historic Busselton Jetty. Stretching 1.84km into Geographe Bay, it’s the longest timber-piled jetty in the Southern Hemisphere and a highlight of the South West coast.

During our visit, you’ll have the opportunity to ride the scenic train to the end of the jetty and back, taking in panoramic views over the bay.

For those who would prefer not to do the train ride, there’s time to browse the vibrant foreshore precinct, grab a coffee at The Goose, or enjoy a tasting paddle at Shelter Brewing Co., located just across the road.

Please note: This itinerary currently doesn’t include the Underwater Observatory experience, as it requires an additional hour or (2 hours in total) to complete. If this is of interest and booking a private tour, let us know and we’d be happy to adjust the itinerary to allow time for it.

Breakfast is available from 7:00am, giving you plenty of time to enjoy a peaceful morning before the day’s touring begins. Your guide will meet you at reception at 8:30am for departure.

Following such a generous lunch, many guests prefer to skip dinner or opt for a lighter evening meal (at guest’s expense). Onsite options include Lamont’s Smiths Beach and the Gourmet Deli & Wine store with takeaway fish and chips, ready-made chef-prepared meals and international wines.

Ease into your final morning in Margaret River with a relaxed breakfast at Lamont’s, just a short stroll from the sand at Smiths Beach Resort. With its calm coastal setting and seasonal menu, it’s the ideal spot to gather your thoughts before the journey north.

After breakfast, it’s time to check out of Smiths Beach Resort and continue your final day of touring. Please ensure all your belongings are packed and ready to go, as we won’t be returning to the resort later in the day.

Your guide will be ready at the vehicle to assist with your luggage. Once everyone is comfortably onboard, we’ll set off for another day exploring the region before the journey back to Perth.

After breakfast, begin your day with a visit to Canal Rocks — just minutes from Smiths Beach and one of the most dramatic coastal formations in the region. Over millions of years, the relentless Indian Ocean has carved narrow channels through ancient granite headlands, forming a striking network of natural canals.

A timber boardwalk provides safe and easy access across the rocks, offering stunning views of the swirling waters, jagged outcrops, and the raw beauty of the Cape to Cape coastline. With the morning light dancing across the ocean, it’s a refreshing and photogenic start to the day.

Nestled in tranquil bushland along Caves Road, Yallingup Galleries has been a beloved showcase of fine Australian art for more than 30 years. This thoughtfully curated space celebrates the creativity of both established and emerging artists, featuring an inspiring collection of paintings, sculpture, glassworks, ceramics, and bespoke timber furniture.

After a relaxed vineyard lunch, we begin the scenic journey back to Perth. Your guide will include a couple of well-timed stops along the way — perhaps for a coffee, an ice cream, or simply to stretch your legs. All going well, we plan to have you back at your Perth city accommodation by around 6:30 pm.
