As we begin our journey south, we’ll pause at Todd’s Café along the Mandurah Foreshore, a scenic waterfront setting in the Peel region. It’s a great opportunity to grab a coffee, stretch your legs, and enjoy views across the estuary, where dolphins and black swans are often spotted. On Sundays, local markets are often set up along the waterfront, adding to the relaxed coastal atmosphere.

Located just north of Bunbury, the Featured Wood Gallery showcases the handcrafted timber work of master woodworker John Ablett. Using Western Australia’s native hardwoods including Jarrah, Marri and Sheoak, the gallery displays a collection of furniture, sculptures and fine pieces created over decades. It’s an interesting stop to appreciate local craftsmanship and the region’s timber heritage.

In the heart of Busselton, The Hummingbird offers a lively, relaxed setting for lunch with a menu that balances comfort and freshness. Known for bold flavours and generous portions, it’s a great place to settle in and enjoy a well-earned break before we continue exploring the South West.

Stretching 1.841 kilometres into Geographe Bay, Busselton Jetty is the longest timber-piled jetty in the Southern Hemisphere and one of Western Australia’s most recognisable landmarks. Built in 1865, it played an important role in the region’s early timber and shipping industries.

You’ll have approximately one hour of free time to enjoy the vibrant foreshore at your own pace. Take a stroll along the historic jetty for sweeping ocean views, relax by the water, or grab a coffee or drink at one of the beachfront venues nearby.

Please note, the Jetty Train and Underwater Observatory are not included, as the full experience runs close to two hours and does not fit within our schedule.

Gabriel Chocolate is Western Australia’s first bean-to-bar chocolate maker and a favourite stop for lovers of fine artisan chocolate. Founded by Gabriel Myburgh, the factory and café work with premium cacao beans sourced from regions including Vanuatu, Ecuador, Madagascar, and Peru.

During your visit, you’ll sample a range of single-origin chocolates and learn how different growing regions and cacao percentages influence flavour, texture, and intensity. From bright and fruity to rich and complex, each tasting highlights the unique character of the cacao. Guests can also enjoy award-winning chocolate bars, hot chocolates, and handcrafted treats from the café.

Enjoy a special moment on tour as you’re welcomed to the McLeod family farm, a property that’s been in our family since 1902. Set amongst rolling paddocks just outside Margaret River, this short stop offers a genuine glimpse into country life — and a chance for us to say hello in our own backyard.

You’ll have the opportunity to feed our friendly horses and, if we’re lucky, spot a few wild kangaroos grazing nearby in their natural habitat. It’s a relaxed and personal experience that brings a touch of home to your journey through the South West — one we’re always proud to share.

Set beside Prevelly Caravan Park near Surfers Point, Prevelly Chapel is a small but significant landmark overlooking the Indian Ocean. Built in 1979 by World War II veteran Geoffrey “Jeff” Edwards, the chapel honours the Cretan villagers who sheltered him and other Allied soldiers during the Battle of Crete in 1941. Dedicated to the Greek Orthodox Church of Australia, it stands as a quiet tribute to courage, gratitude, and enduring human connection.

Centrally located in the heart of Margaret River, Margaret’s In Town offer a convenient and comfortable base, within easy walking distance of cafés, restaurants, and local shops.

Base-level accommodation for this tour is clean, comfortable hotel-style rooms, ideal for guests who value location and simplicity while spending their days exploring the region.

For those seeking additional space or self-contained living, upgrades are available to a one-bedroom apartment, offering extra living areas and kitchen facilities (subject to availability and additional cost).

Aldo’s Café is a well-known local spot just off the main street of Margaret River. It’s known for good coffee, friendly service, and generous breakfasts that keep things simple and satisfying. The menu features fresh, classic options done well, making it a reliable place to start the day before heading out to explore the region. A popular choice with locals, it’s a relaxed and welcoming way to begin the morning.

Step inside one of the region’s most awe-inspiring limestone caves, rich in geological and paleontological history. Mammoth Cave features towering chambers, intricate crystal formations, and 35,000-year-old fossil remains of extinct megafauna. As part of the McLeod Tours experience, your guide will personally share the cave’s incredible stories, scientific discoveries, and cultural significance, bringing this natural wonder to life

Cruise beneath the giant karri trees of the Boranup Forest, a truly magical drive through towering old-growth forest that feels like something from another world.

Take a stroll along the shoreline at Hamelin Bay, where you might spot the resident stingrays gliding through the shallows. Once a busy timber port, the weathered remnants of its old jetty still whisper tales of Western Australia's maritime past.

Please note: visiting Hamelin Bay is at your guide's discretion. Just like the early timber traders who learned the hard way that this bay is rough and exposed, we give it a wide berth in the cooler months when the weather turns. If conditions aren't in our favour, your guide will have a worthy alternative up their sleeve.

Stand where two great oceans meet! Visit the historic Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, the tallest on mainland Australia, and gaze out over the point where the Southern and Indian Oceans collide—truly a bucket-list moment.

Located on the banks of the Blackwood River in Augusta, Colour Patch Café & Bar offers relaxed dining with one of the best views in town. Known for its friendly service and vibrant coastal atmosphere, it’s a local favourite for both casual and refined meals.

The menu showcases fresh, regional produce with popular dishes including the seafood linguine, fish tacos, and the generously portioned Colour Patch Burger. For something lighter, the seasonal salads and grilled local fish are always a hit. There’s also a great selection of vegetarian and gluten-free options.

Pair your meal with a crisp local white wine or a refreshing craft beer, all while soaking up the river breeze from the sunny deck. Whether you’re dining inside or out, it’s a perfect spot to pause, refresh, and take in the natural beauty of Augusta

Tucked away in a peaceful pocket of the Margaret River region, Redgate Wines is a family-owned estate producing premium small-batch wines since 1977. Specialising in classic Margaret River varietals including Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz, the cellar door offers a generous and engaging tasting experience. Expect vibrant wines, vineyard views, and genuine local hospitality.

Enjoy some free time in the heart of Margaret River, where great food, independent shops, and local creativity come together. Stop by Mai Tardi Gelato for small-batch, handcrafted flavours that have quickly become a local favourite, or wander into the much-loved Margaret River Bookshop, known for its carefully curated selection and strong focus on Australian authors.

Along the main street you’ll also find boutique stores, artisan homewares, jewellery, and locally made gifts. Whether you’re picking up something special or simply soaking up the relaxed atmosphere, Margaret River town offers an easy and enjoyable way to spend an hour or two.

Start your morning with a relaxed breakfast at the White Elephant Café, perched right beside Gnarabup Beach. With sweeping ocean views and a laid-back coastal vibe, it’s the perfect way to begin your day. (Breakfast included.)

This dramatic coastal headland is home to the iconic Surfers Point — one of the most famous surf breaks in Australia if not the world and host to the Margaret River Pro, a key event on the World Surf League tour. Known for its powerful, consistent waves and stunning backdrop, it has seen champions like Jack Robinson and John John Florence take titles here. Just below, the Margaret River flows into the sea, creating a striking contrast between wild surf and calm waters — a must-see coastal landmark.

Located just outside Margaret River, Yahava KoffeeWorks is a popular local roastery offering fresh coffee roasted onsite daily. Guests can enjoy complimentary tastings of single-origin beans and signature blends, making it an engaging stop to sample different roasts, learn about where the beans are sourced, and understand how origin influences flavour. A relaxed and enjoyable introduction to the region’s coffee culture.

Located in the hills of Rosa Brook, Brown Hill Estate is a family-owned winery producing estate-grown, hand-picked wines since 1995. Known for its Cabernet blends, Chardonnay and Shiraz, the wines are crafted onsite and regularly receive national and international recognition. Guests enjoy a relaxed tasting inside the working winery, often hosted by a member of the Bailey family.

Visit the striking Edwards Wines cellar door, set among sweeping vineyard views and distinctive jarrah architecture, complete with a restored 1943 Tiger Moth biplane. Enjoy a tasting of premium wines paired with local cheeses while learning about the estate’s connection to SubSea Estate, where selected wines are aged beneath the ocean. A unique stop combining local history, innovation and quality winemaking.

Set among 320 acres of olive groves, Olio Bello is a certified organic producer of extra-virgin olive oil and gourmet condiments. Guests can sample a range of olive oils, balsamic reductions and handcrafted products made onsite before enjoying a relaxed lunch in the garden café, where seasonal dishes highlight local produce and the estate’s signature oils.

After a relaxed lunch at Olio Bello, it’s more or less a direct run back to Perth. Your tour guide will make a couple of well-timed stops along the highway, whether it’s for a coffee, an ice cream, or just to stretch your legs, before arriving comfortably in the city by late afternoon.
