Settlers Tavern Bar & Pub

Every good country town needs a proper pub, and Settlers has been Margaret River’s living room for decades. The kitchen turns out generous, honest food from local producers, and the wine list is so good it has won national awards, which is not something many front bars can claim. There is live music most weekends, so if you hear something drifting up the street after dinner, this is where it is coming from.

Swings & Roundabouts Wine Bar & Pizza

This is the town outpost of the Yallingup winery of the same name, and it is where the main street comes alive after dark. Think woodfired pizzas, seasonal share plates and their own wines poured a few steps from where you are staying. The urban cellar door opens from 2pm if you would like a tasting before dinner. Homeground Sports Bar & Kitchen

Margaret River’s first proper sports bar, locally owned and right in the middle of the strip. The big screens play whatever matters that night, live and loud, and the kitchen backs it up with a menu that runs from quick bites to serious plates. A great pick if there is a game on and you want a lively room with a cold beer in hand.

Margaret River Brewhouse Brewery

Cross the bridge over the Margaret River itself and you will find the Brewhouse tucked into the trees on the far bank, pouring craft beer brewed right there on site. The food philosophy is local, honest and fun, and the leafy setting near Rotary Park makes it a lovely spot for a relaxed early dinner. The stroll back into town takes less than ten minutes.

Margaret River Hotel Coming Soon

The grand old lady of the main street, built in 1936, is nearing the end of a five year restoration by the Heytesbury Wine Group and is expected to reopen in late 2026. The corner bar returns along with a new dining room, rear courtyard and 27 rooms. Watch this space, we will be adding it to the guide the moment the doors open.
Morries Tapas & Cocktails

A Margaret River institution since 2012, Morries is the town’s dimly lit, grown-up dining room, with tapas style plates built around seasonal local produce and a serious cocktail program. Everything is made for sharing, so order a few plates, then a few more. Ask for a seat at the bar if you enjoy watching drinks being made properly.

El Toro South American Grill

One street back from the highway on Town View Terrace, El Toro brings genuine Latin energy to town, with charcoal grilled meats, charred octopus and spiced whole fish alongside an impressive tequila collection. It is vibrant, a little loud and great fun, ideal for a group who want plates in the middle of the table. The cocktail list rewards the adventurous.

Miki’s Open Kitchen Japanese Degustation
Shop 2/131 Bussell Hwy (east side) · approx. 380 m, 5 min walk
Some of the best Japanese food in Western Australia happens right here on the main street, where chef Mikihito Nagai and his team cook a tailor made degustation in front of just 36 guests. The theatre of the open kitchen is half the joy, so ask for counter seats. This one books out well ahead, so reserve online well before your trip.

An intimate 35 seat fine diner at the top of the main street from Ann Spencer and chef Evan Hayter, formerly of Arimia Estate. The tasting menu is a genuine journey through the region’s produce, matched to a wine list that spans premium local and global pours. La Scarpetta Trattoria Trattoria

Set in the heritage listed Bridgefield Guesthouse toward the river end of town, home to nearly a century of hospitality, La Scarpetta is run by Italian chefs making fresh pasta by hand every single day, using recipes from their home regions. The woodfired pizzas are excellent too, and there are solid gluten free and vegan options. It feels like being fed by someone’s nonna, in the best possible way.
